Arsenal Injury News: Smith Rowe Could Miss West Ham Clash

Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney Expected to Return

Emile Smith Rowe faces a race against time to be fit for Arsenal's Premier League clash with West Ham on Sunday.

The attacking midfielder has been struggling with a thigh injury and missed Arsenal's 3-1 win over Tottenham last weekend.

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Smith Rowe will be assessed ahead of the West Ham game, but the Spaniard is not optimistic about the player's chances of featuring.

  1. Bukayo Saka is expected to return to the Arsenal starting lineup after missing the Tottenham game with a minor knock.
  2. Kieran Tierney is also fit again after recovering from a calf injury.
  3. Takehiro Tomiyasu remains out with a thigh injury, while Gabriel Jesus is still recovering from knee surgery.

With Smith Rowe likely to miss out, Arteta could turn to Gabriel Martinelli or Fabio Vieira to start alongside Saka and Martin Odegaard in attack.

  • Martinelli has been in impressive form for Arsenal this season, scoring four goals in his last six appearances.
  • Vieira has also shown glimpses of his quality since joining from Porto in the summer.

West Ham will be without Gianluca Scamacca and Nayef Aguerd for the game.

Scamacca is suffering from a knee injury, while Aguerd is recovering from an ankle problem.

David Moyes is likely to start Michail Antonio up front, with Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma supporting him.

The match between Arsenal and West Ham is scheduled to kick off at 4:30pm on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium.
